Fast Food — Does It Really Pay Off

For the past two decades or so, fast food has become on the biggest sources of revenue and attention in our society. Fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and more. When we hear commercials and Ads of these particular companies, what do we always hear? Yes, stuff like “Eat Healthy”, “100% real meat”, “cheap and healthy”, or “Four for Four”, all portraying the message that the food is nothing but good for you and worth the dollar or two you would be paying. Along with the sayings, the Ads are always too good to be true, as the burgers look so separated and placed perfectly, coming off the steaming grill, when really there’s a chance your burger might have been microwaved; That doesn’t happen to everyone, but there’s a high chance! Artists using other Artists beats or lyrics

Many artists use past artist’ beats or lyrics and incorporate them into their songs. People always say “He/She stole their flow” or “He/She stole their bars”. When in reality that artist is just paying tribute or giving respect to the artist who came up with the beat or lyric.

Flower Child

I have noticed that in recent years parents are getting extremely creative with baby names and while some of them are cute and beautiful some of the names are a bit odd. I once read that a couple parents named their child “facebook” after the social media account. While I am not judging their parenting techniques it got me thinking about all the unique baby names and how you can name children after elements of nature. My project would cover a list of unique nature inspired baby names that can be rendered gender neutral in today’s society and provide insight as to whether nature gender neutral names can hold on to heritage and still be trendy. Jcole rap music into gospel music

I listen to a lot of Jcole’s music, and the reoccurring theme that he has presented is the fact that he is trying to speak the language of youth in a positive light.  In a church there are similar attributes, when a pastor is trying to speak to his troubled youth followers about what is right and wrong, and why they shouldn’t act impudently.

Headphone products into fashion statements.

Are the Beats headphones that I have any better, then a corded version of another brand of headphones?  Or is the airpods that everyone that is “important” has, but continues to lose more than just helping me have a better listening experience?  [...]

Mislabeled Political Twitter Trolls to Political Protesters

In my work on trying to uncover what trolling is, who labels it, and who is mislabeled as a troll. I have come across several parallels to the real world and I believe that the attributed I described a typical mislabeled troll with is shared with protesters. Both parties involved attempt desperate ways to grab attention for various political purposes. These shared attributes between genres provide much leeway to translate smoothly between the two.

Political Twitter Fights to Child-Like Arguments

With more and more Twitter fights breaking out these days one would imagine argument styles would have evolved into a more intellectual debate, but no. [...]

Similar movie posters are plagiarism or tribute

Thousands of movies are released every year around the world, and the design style of each movie poster is closely related to the type of film. Even in a creative design world, it is inevitable that there are references. These similar movie posters may be really imitated, maybe just coincidence, but in any case, it’s fun. The looking of some movie posters in recent years is very similar, whether it is composition, color or style, even the text on the poster is similar. Most of these posters are interpreted as tribute to a classic movie but looking at too many such posters will naturally feel boring, so I want to know if the designers of these posters are not inspired or really pay tribute a movie, or other reasons makes these posters so similar. [...]

SpongeBob SquarePants –> Actually an adult cartoon?

I work with children up to age 12 and we regularly watch movies and cartoons during one portion of our day. Growing up I was always allowed to watch SpongeBob and my parents never had an issue with it. However, I noticed recently at work when we would watch a cartoon with the kids, some of them told us they are not allowed to watch SpongeBob because their parents tell them it is inappropriate (I was shocked because I didn’t understand why… until I really thought about it). SpongeBob lives in “Bikini Bottom”, there are characters named “Mr. Krabs” and “Sandy Cheeks” who live in bikini bottom, the newspaper for the town is called the “Bikini Bottoms Examiner” and I’m sure there are many more adult hints that people overlook or miss. [...]

Instagram Posts ———— Realistic Imperfect Posts

I’ve recently noticed on Instagram that a lot of the pictures people post look almost too “perfect.” The people (or food) in the post are posed really well. Also, due to filters and cropping their photos look pretty flawless even the candid ones. Because of this people give off the impression that they have this perfect life through Instagram. However, this perfect life is more likely created by putting in a lot of effort in taking several photos involving different poses, filters, cropping and even apps like Instabeauty. People basically create this “perfect” fake life. I think it would be interesting to translate these usual “perfect” photos into more realistic images. [...]

Inspirational Quotes to Uninspirational Quotes-

As I have been analyzing the Inspirational Quotes genre, I have come to the conclusion that most quotes are not inspirational. The inspiration is subjective and mostly derived from wide applicability. There is no complexity in these quotes and mostly anyone can relate to the quotes because of they are super unspecific. My idea is to create a series of inspirational quote parodies. These quotes which I will create will highlight the ineffectiveness of inspirational quotes and the fact that they truly are not very motivational. The new quotes will retain the main ideas/values described in the quotes but will expose them for their generality and lack of originality. [...]

The secret of movie posters

Many people today are under the pressure of busy life and work, and they must release pressure in a timely manner, so entertainment is an indispensable part of life. Watching movies is a modern entertainment choice for the majority, but how to attract customers to the theater and watch movies depends on the application of poster design elements. Therefore, this paper studies the related issues of poster visual design, using well-known movie posters as an analysis sample. The research questions include the application of design elements such as the color, text, image and layout principles of the movie poster, whether the film information is correctly conveyed, and the similarities and differences between the posters of each movie are integrated. [...]

“Dark Spaghetti”

Spaghetti Westerns are an interesting sub genre because they provide a window into what the genre would be like from the point of view of an Italian producer.  This differs from a American Western, because instead of focusing on the “All American,” “white knight,” we get something real.  When collaborating with the professor I have come to the realization that these producers are somewhat imitating what they think is the most important parts of the genre.  What they believe makes up a spaghetti western.  I will be exploring why these Italian producers have chosen to emphasize a new approach to the role of the protagonist, and how this actually resembles a closer view to how the western expansion actually was. I will also show why these producers choose to present these undefined character roles as they do, with humor. [...]

The Ways In Which You Can Improve: Instructional Films

As the youth within our modern society continue to grow more consumed with their self-image with the passing of every generation, they are also plagued with the heavy load that is finding their place in the world as they mature. This obsession with self-perfection within one’s youth commonly coincides with the stress of navigating the onslaught of decisions and responsibility the will inevitably befall them.  Many educational institutions of today feel the need to intervene in these situations and put lessons in place that promote self-love and individuality, many times in the form of visual media. However, this is not a new tactic that many modern schools are only now discovering if we look back at how the stresses of teens growing up where handle in the past we will see a very similar approach to this problem. This paper will be about the irony of overprotective parents introducing nursery rhymes to children that have dark, rated-r content. These same parents condemn introducing anything violent, or what they deem “inappropriate” to children because it may ruin a child’s mental stability in the future. This paper will highlight the ironies of how nursery rhymes are these inappropriate actions, events, history that are just repurposed to fit their child’s needs. Introducing these “inappropriate actions” undermine the parent’s purpose of protecting their child. The ultimate goal of this paper is to show that it is not what you introduce to your child in terms of entertainment that will ruin your child’s mental health, it is the upbringing and how you raise/teach your child to approach these situations that determines the direction the child will grow up to be in the future. The value of horsemanship

After conducting further research and using a mixture of the ladder and the umbrella technique I have come up with a way of narrowing my genre. While my genre remains to be equine journalism, I will take a closer look at a specific subgenre that comes up quite frequently in equine journalism which is horsemanship. I want to identify and inform what the value of horsemanship is to equestrians and society. Horsemanship is the connection that an individual and horse obtain through communicating under various circumstances. Horsemanship is a valuable part of the horse community because it shows which individuals have the best relationships with their horse or horses and who has the best understanding or tools to communicating with the thousand pound creatures. [...]
