Fast Food — Does It Really Pay Off

For the past two decades or so, fast food has become on the biggest sources of revenue and attention in our society. Fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and more. When we hear commercials and Ads of these particular companies, what do we always hear? Yes, stuff like “Eat Healthy”, “100% real meat”, “cheap and healthy”, or “Four for Four”, all portraying the message that the food is nothing but good for you and worth the dollar or two you would be paying. Along with the sayings, the Ads are always too good to be true, as the burgers look so separated and placed perfectly, coming off the steaming grill, when really there’s a chance your burger might have been microwaved; That doesn’t happen to everyone, but there’s a high chance! Therefore, as fast food companies try to use their low pricing to substitute for healthiness, it will never be the outcome.

Subject: Designer/High End Clothing

POS: Clothes, shoes, & accessories that are more on the expensive & better quality side compared to majority of clothing worn by today’s society.

Subject: The High vs. Hype Theory

POS: Although there are clothes that match in pricing, for example, a hyped brand such as “Supreme” in many instances can catch clothes and shoes going for the same, if not more money then many designer brands known as Gucci and Versace.

Subject: Expensive Simplicity

POS: A lot of times, if you pay attention, expensive clothing companies tend to have simple logos or name representations, as opposed to lower brand clothing. For example, Gucci’s logo are a pair of G’s, Fendi’s logo are adjacent F’s, and brands like Cartier and Giuseppe are spelled out as pronounced in a cursive manner.

Subject: Irony of Price

POS: Even though many of the designer brands mentioned, are usually costly, majority of them started or originated from a poor beginning. Many wonder how does rich quality come from a poor person’s idea, that’s the irony!

Rewrite:

High end fashion in retail stores everywhere is looked at and used to describe how much ones values being comfortable and values how they invest in clothing rather then following a trend.

Do people spend time and money with high end clothing companies for reasons such as status and feeling rich rather then considering it smart shopping.

When talking about the designer clothes of our time, anyone writing on it, or supporting is pretty straight forward and to the point. Due to the fact that anyone who is associating with them is likely already aware of what they’re getting themselves. They include the prices and descriptions of majority of heir items, if not, showing and describing the make up of some of these products. When speaking to their audience, they tend to speak or appeal to Logos and Ethos. I do not say Pathos for a reason, due to the fact that when speaking or selling these items its a pretty straight forward exchange, no emotion.

Opposed to many other genres, this one doesn’t require as much word play. The layout of the this Genre requires more pictures then words in a lot of cases. A simple catalog, or online shopping format is used majority of the time also.  This allows them to let the images do the talking and limit the word count, as you would probably only see a price, description, instructions, or suggestions. Overall, keeping world play simple. However, when it comes to diction throughout this genre, they tend to use terminologies and specific words to describe items that were already familiar with. For example, terms such as Monk straps and belt bags are used to describe a simple item we would call a pouch, shoes, or just bag! This choice of wording tends to give off a more sophisticated tone, or a business tone.

These patterns that are used by these high end clothing companies, i believe are to make the customer feel loved or at home, despite the prices. Whether one has enough money or attention to deal with these items, the customer will ALWAYS be satisfied, either because they are very happy with a purchase, or excited to work towards getting that item.

It is important to know that believe it or not, a lot of work goes into this. The question or thoughts of a five dollar shirt and a $400 having any relation or comparison should be thrown out of the window. YES it is better quality, YES it will last longer, YES it requires a lot more work then the usual brand. Along with a social boost, the price is worth the investment in the long run. Overall, many aspects of these companies are overlooked simply because of a price tag!

Unappreciated Genre

There are many topics and genres that are not focused on in our time, in which they deserve to be. One very important genre, that tends to be overlooked, is designer fashion! This topic tends to be overlooked all the time simply for reasons such as not being introduced, the looks of many of the items, and most likely the price tag. I believe it is an important topic because many times designer or high end clothing is looked at as “hype”, rather than a lifestyle. Majority of those will say they saw their favorite celebrity, recording artist, or their “rich uncle”, with the finest clothing, and will automatically classify themselves apart. However, that should never be the case; Designer clothing should be looked at more as a goal to how one may want to dress, or a smarter way to shop.

Along with the reasons for why people choose not to invest into designer or high end clothing, people don’t see an eight-hundred-dollar purchase as “smart” as buying fifty shirts for the same price. From personal experience and asking others, I can guarantee that your one $800-dollar item will last longer and perform better than any product one owns.

Here are a few links that can give a visual sense as to why the prices and quality of these items are so:

Here we can see the amount of the precise work and history behind Louis Vuitton, which can also give the audience an idea of the effort put into these higher brands.

Here is a general explanation of the pros and cons of buying designer clothing as opposed to cheaper alternatives:

This link shows the differences in product making from quality to the amount of workers it takes to make up alternatives:

Now one may ask who this topic relates to or where this genre takes place in our time today, and I believe it has to do with everyone. What would we be without clothes? Clothes are something we need in life to go through with everyday activities whether its sleeping, walking, going to school, or walking a dog; There is never a time that we do not need clothes (besides sex). Therefore, there isn’t a time that we shouldn’t consider the type of clothes we buy. The only dominating factor that separates those who buy high end as opposed to alternatives, are those who are less fortunate or simply don’t have any room for expenses such as four hundred and fifty dollar shirts.

Now when it comes to the writers of this genre, it would be false if it were stated that everyone is intact or everyone can write on this topic. This area is definitely for those who have worked up to a certain point to attain these things physically. In that case, I would agree that this genre or option, may not be everyone’s strong suit, but it is 100%, possible to configure the thoughts of one’s outlook on higher end clothing.
