We all are aware of the things that happened is because of the media. Meaning that the media educates us on what is  going on around the world. We watch the news on our phone, tablets, laptops, and computers to learn about stuff. And there are plenty of cool apps that people use their phones, tablets, and laptops, such as yahoo, youtube, and popular websites such as CNN. Now I can understand that there are more people who are interested in taking their pictures, posted their videos on facebook, youtube, Instagram because this what our generation like to do than watching the news.  And it is not ok because we need to learn about what is going on, so people uses facebook, Instagram, and youtube to convey their messages. Not only do people share their stories online, but they also share their artwork online such as tab art. Tab art is something that is popular and people are being innovative with this type of tab art. People post their artwork online on youtube, Instagram, and youtube. They even providing lessons on how their do their project. People have done their art project by doing business online and connect with their social media friends and expand the business by posting what they are selling. Social media play a pivotal role in our society because we get to learn amazing art project from friends and help them expanding their artwork in business.

I was reading an article about how a woman named Alice Hope have developed a great idea for tabs art in which there is a great project because she is using recycle things to make her project art. She grew up in Hong Kong and fell in love with New York art. She told the Keonna Hendrick who is the interviewer that she stumbled upon the tabs when her residency was giving a tour at the recycling center. She was not looking for tabs specifically because she was working on another project, but its aesthetic of encounter stopped her from looking at the tabs. She also explained  to the reporter the significance of the tabs, its shape being radical and personal to everyone since there are fingerprints  from the can of tabs and that people have opened up cans  in their lives.  Her work is very mesmerizing and she chose to work with her  tabs without adding any colors because silver is very reflective of light and in which there is no recognition about of the tab anymore since its transformation is really attractive. Alice Hope is an artist at the residence at the Museum of Art and Design.

  1. My first cultural artifact is soda tab bracelet which I love by the way because the soda tab is being recycled and it helps save the environment. Now those soda tab bracelets   represent something which is helping mother nature and that it helps save energy. those soda tab bracelets are made of ribbons or shoelaces, and there are many colors which make it good on your skin. This artifact represents the symbol of recycling and that you can have a beautiful art.
  2. My second artifact is Instagram which is a social media where you can add videos, pics of you and what you like to do. Instagram is a great social media where you can learn much stuff you like to do. For instance, you may want to learn how to make your own soda tab bracelets. it is true that you can go on youtube and watch it; however, If you are interested in buying or doing business with this person, you always find his or her information on Instagram which youtube do not provide. So Instagram is the best place to learn and to have as a hobby.
  3. My last artifact is the Museum of Art and design. Alice Hope who loves doing art with tabs is a resident at the Museum of Art and Design in New York. And i bet that  having her art exhibit at MAD is not only awesome but it is an accomplishment because plenty of other artists will see her art and everyone is going to know that is her art piece. And it is so mesmerizing what she can do with those tabs.  https://teens.artsconnection.org/tag/soda-can-tabs/

dilemmas

we all have our own problems and we are the one to blame for it because we do things that hurt mother nature and don’t really hold ourselves accountable for the consequences.  the other day watching a clip from facebook about India weather. it was really warm that the civilians could not walk in the street. why? because when walking down in the street wit flip flops  it seems that the heat from the ground tends to make it sticky because the heat is dissolving their flip flops. it is so hot over there that the civilians in India can not walk properly in the street because their flip flops are getting dissolve when walking.  so it might be global warming, or because there is deforestation that can cause the weather to be shifting. All of this contribute to how the world is changing and we still think that mother nature is more susceptible to take all of this harm from pollution, erosion, and many others. We maybe not aware of our actions but we need to learn that the world we are living in need more protection because our actions  may not affect one particular place but it sure affects another part of the world. Look at India, it is so frustrating and irritating that no one can do anything about it because we do not want to hold ourselves accountable for what we did in which we chose the easier way whether than find a perfect and final solution to solve our problems.

Power

Power can mean anything to a person in which it can be positive and negative.  I was watching a clip of the Tv show Scandal created by Shonda Rhimes and Peter Nowalk and many others wonderful producers in which of that episode the whole scene was about power. And really explained everything about how the society views power. In season 5 episode 21 which was the finale, it shows that Olivia Pope played by (Kerry Washington) saved Jake Ballard played by (Scott Foley) from her father because her father wanted jake to be the Vice President of the United states. After saving him from her father, it turns out that Olivia wanted for Jake to be the Vice President of the United States after all. This right here is some kind of power in which people are being used and forcibly to climb of the pinnacle of their status. now I may see as I a positive  thing whereas my best friend might say this is totally wrong because Jake did not want this. He wanted to be normal and not to be able to not make decisions for himself. now I said that I think what Oliva did was purely genius because we cheat all the times and everything we do always have a little bit of lie or corruption in it. why? because we are humans and we want what is far greater than ourselves which is power. It is the only thing that is making us do foolish thing such as taking money from our civilians, spy on them, hack and listen to what we say and do daily. Without power, we could not have the ability to do this stunt and deceive our people. in this world, there are two kinds of people. People with power and people who are being in control by power people.  Power usually   also mean money because it means that person can do things that can be awe or create things that can control us with microchips, or GPS of our cars and can know wherever we are and what are we up to. And there are bad people in this world who want to ake over the world or rule the world for that matter. Power means ability, influence, rule and there are many other ways that i can describe it and it will always be a word that is associated with money and to control which can be people, country, or even a nation.

this day there is so much scandal and really horrible betrayal against human nature. And it all started with money. Now people think that money can help them and bring them happiness and it is not true because it only brings you stuff. Yes, i said it money only bring people stuff. Stuff like food, water bill, electrical bill, medical bill which all at the end of the day gave us a headache or stroke. Now as i was making research for my topic, i stumble in to words like bankruptcy, a world without money…  And as we all know our economy is not perfect because we do not know what to do with money. what i am trying to say is that there are lot of money grants out there and i t is hard to get qualify if you are someone who drop out of High School.  amd it is hard to even get a decent job without having a bachelor degree or master one. Our economy has pulverized us and made us think that we are living the dream when in fact we work to make money and we broke after two days from getting paid because we spend it on bills, mortgage, food, technology. it is mess up and literally not a great way to live since stress is not good for our body. Our wolrd is much better without the economy system because it would eliminate threats such as scammers, identity thefts, doing illegal stuff to get money fast or known as money under the table.

I was reading a book for my Intro Literature Studies that is called O Pioneers wrote by Willa Cather.  This book talks mostly about a  young woman name Alexandra Bergson who grew up on a farm in which  she made it her home.  Now when I was reading this book I noticed there was this spark of my topic and I was glad because not only I feel related to the story but it also makes me feel home since my parents had a farm too. In chapter two it explains how John Bergeson who was Alexandra’s father was telling her to keep the land and to cultivate it. Now I was reluctant to even this book associated with my topic because I did not see the connection until I finish reading chapter three which explained how years later the land was prosperous in which she became a very wealthy person.  the author describes in depth more how she was working hard and trust her instinct in making the good decision about the farm.    Back in the day, things were much simpler and easy because things were not expensive back then and it was very helpful for farmers who have their own land to eat and to not worry about food. Didn’t people pay farmers and workers to have their land cultivate I ask? In the book, it did not say anything about Alexandra paying tenant farmers with money to  work on her farm.  i would assume that  she paid them with food or gave them some shelter and this when i realize that i made a connection about my topic. And it also provides a perfect example for my topic.  I always curious what the past was like especially living  in a farm wit animals, great   landscape with green grass, and  the wind that the blew on my face. All of that tell me that pollution was reduced, machines were not made, technology was barely popular back then which means as time prolonged money affected the rising of pollution with those big expensive machines technology destroyed mother nature to the core. without money. A government without a money system can survive because we have great knowledge to build space shuttle in to space i am sure we can find a way to eliminate this system that making almost everyone in this planet with great debts.

beautiful world

In this picture the trees are green and there is a beautiful lake. the sky is clear  of clouds. there is a peacock who is blended with the beautiful pink flowers. the whole picture can be view as a nice place for a person to go visit for vacation especially if that person is a love outdoors, nature. And this place definitely could be a place where senior can enjoy life there because the trees are beautiful, and the sky is clear. Most of the time when looking at a picture people tend to interpret into another perspective is that the color green which is appealing to life since green means growth, life. I chose this image because it is a beautiful place that is definitely looks like the same  place in the disney movie the lion king in which the animals referred this place as  hakuna matata which means no worries in Swahili. So if this place is considered as a paradise it is likely to say that this place does not have any kind of system where citizen need to follow certain rules, everyone can do whatever he or she wants as long as he or she is maintains civilized.   this image conveys a strong message by capturing its viewer with color and the shape of the trees, the quantity of animals. All of that contribute to how the image conveys its message.

World without an Economy

My topic is about a world without using money. There is a term for it which is called barter in which it is the exchange of any goods and services without using money. Way back before money existed, our world used this kind of system and i am wondering if the government would have used this system, could our problem vanish? According to Jacques Fresco who is a visionary and architect, explain in a 10 minutes clip youtube video of “imagine our world without money” that our world is already collapsing because machine is already replacing human labor work in which case machine are cheaper and easier to do the manual work. Nevertheless, another youtube video of “Imagine a world without money, debt and slave” that having machines to do our manual labor is a good thing in which case we should celebrate since machines do it more efficiently and easy. I think that the world would have been so much better with this kind of system because not only money would not be involve, but the exchange of goods and services of what I want to exchange can estimate the value of it without using any money.  Meanwhile, Jessica Toothman is a blogger at HowStuffWorks.com write her blog of “What would a moneyless world would like”  proposed that a moneyless world can be function on a gift economy in which people receive and give goods and services freely instead of paying for it.  In addition, I was thrilled to learn that this method is used in real life by the people of Anuta which is an island in the southeastern part of Solomon Islands. This modern gift economy they maintain is called Aropa in which people share everything from land to food which result a better society for them with world peace. This method could work mostly for farmers and fisher man because not all people would want to work in the heat; however, if the government tries to enforce this new method people would have to give up technology because using machines to do our farms would cost a lot of energy in which it might be expensive. I want for the world to be a better place and if we have to live without using technology or money I would be glad to be part of this world because I know money and technology can not bring world peace or solve all my conflicts.

Being a great thinker must be something that improve someone one’s writing in which this writer has to make a lot research. It is really easy to just do research about any topic; however, researching on the topic that interested the writer might seemed the best idea.  Everyone has his or her own style of writing. I like to think in the middle and the end of the topic I am about to write which makes me a not an expert at starting a good research paper. Like Ballenger said, a good topic is not only just about the writer interested topic, but also getting answers from that topic that can make an interesting paper. I wrote a research paper about arranged marriage and most of my questions were answered which include why does arranged marriage still exist? or how does it work?, and why is it important to certain culture? I personally think that arranged marriage is absurd because everyone has his or her free will. But the reason why I was interested  research more about that topic was because I was curious about it. Like Reid said, each of us have a reason to write whether it was an interest or for a job. My  inspiration of my favorites authors such as Suzanne Collins, James Patterson, and Megan Crewe. To elaborate more,  my motivation to write was how each author describe his or her story of every chapter in which it consists twisting, shocking, joyful moments of that story. Being a  great writer consist of the person who motivate you and what influence it made for you to hold on to that motivation.
